[close] ![]() ElevenOne Theatre is a newly-formed Oxford-based company, formed with the intention of promoting and developing the wealth of talent in the local area. We will be producing a mix of new work and contemporary productions of classic plays, offering accessible and dynamic theatre produced to a professional standard. It is our intention to encourage new writing, directing and performing talent through rehearsed readings as well as full productions. Aims
Past productionsOur first production was Noel Coward's 'Private Lives'. Elyot Chase and Amanda Prynne, once married, then divorced, and now remarried, find themselves honeymooning at the same hotel with their new spouses. When they were together, their life was a maelstrom of fury and recrimination, but they had a bond, and they are about to discover that it can't be so easily swept aside. Coward's writing sparkles with wit and guarantees audiences a hilarious night out. The play was directed by Helen Taylor. The CompanyHelen Taylor (Director)Helen Taylor has performed in more than seventy plays in London, Edinburgh and Oxford. Locally she has performed with the OTG, Cakes & Ale, Class ACT and Tomahawk theatre companies. Vince Haig (Graphic Design)Vince Haig is a talented model maker, illustrator and photographer with a large portfolio of publicity and web design work. Philip CotterillPhilip trained at LAMDA, and his professional career includes a national tour of the Borrowers and afternoon plays for Radio 4. He has also written for Wasted Potential Theatre Group and created the music for the audio CD of Alice in Wonderland for Oxford Storypods. Joseph KennewayJoseph Kenneway is director of a marketing communications company which he founded in 1997, with a client list which includes public sector, publishing, educational and charity organisations. His design skills and interest in the theatre have found a natural synergy in the creation of publicity materials and theatre programmes for many of Oxford's most prominent local theatre companies. Joseph has been a regular performer in Oxford on stage too, playing numerous roles from Shakespearian tyrants, through emotionally damaged misfits, to comedic character parts. Mike Taylor (Business Manager/Webmaster)Mike Taylor is a businessman who writes fiction. He was chair of St Peter's Under 5's Playgroup for three years.
